Toronto...The Great White North

This city is AMAZING! To me it's a beautiful reflection of Chicago (lakefront beauty and clean city streets), New York (cosmopolitan, vibrant, high end shopping and extremely multi-cultural) and San Francisco (Environmentally conscious, old town street cars, LGBT friendly). We loved this city and all she had to offer! Here are some highlights of our short visit...

First things first... POUTINE!  A Canadian delight! We found a terrific restaurant that had several varieties of poutine on the menu. (We had the buffalo version). First meal of the trip was at The Loose Moose  Great local place with discussion worthy artwork and ambiance. We LOVED it!

OK, after several hours of sleeping off the Poutine Carb Coma we set out to see the city sites and excursions.

Getting our bearings WAY UP HIGH at The CN Tower. Beautiful views of the city and Lake Ontario. It's also really affordable (compared to NYC's tower attractions) I recommend going up. Beauty eh!!

After seeing the "cityscape" we went Kayaking in the Lake Ontario. Harbourfront Canoe & Kayak of Toronto is a wonderful excursion and CHEAP! Three of us had a 3 hour excursion for $100 canadian.

Other "attractions"/ neighborhoods we visited and loved:

THE DISTILLERY DISTRICT a former Whisky Distillery that Toronto has now transformed into a artsy, bohemian neighborhood with galleries, shops, restaurants, bars and tremendous nightlife. We were there during the Toronto Jazz Fest. It was COOL!

St. Lawrence Market We didn't get a chance to see it up close, but it looked fantastic and I will go next time I'm there! Fresh seafood, produce, cheeses, meats, etc.... the best of Toronto!

Next stop... The Times Square of Toronto Yonge Square. It's really a triangle, but, WHATEVER! LOL! This is the entertainment district of Toronto. The similarities between it and NYC Times Square are crazy same! Toronto is a film location GIANT now beacause Yonge Square is so remeniscient of NYC that so many films have been shot here (including the ENTIRE footage of the new "Suicide Squad" movie.) Anyway, you can get your big city feel spending a day here! We freaking loved it!

Other cool stuff to see?? We saw this stuff, but didn't get to really EXPLORE them (due to lack of time) but we will when we go back. However, here are some pics:

University Of Toronto According to Toronto natives any film that takes place at Harvard is ACTUALLY filmed here because Harvard will not allow filming on campus. So... it's the FAKE Harvard. (But my daughter has fallen IN LOVE with this city and this campus!). Here are my crappy pics...

Kensington Market We didn't get to explore this due to time, but we are gonna see it when next time. Artsy district of Toronto that borders Chinatown. A definite "must-see"!

So, basically, we LOVED Toronto! Not only is it a beautiful, artsy, cosmopolitan city.... it is an environmentally conscious, multi-cultural, LGBT friendly city and GORGEOUS! Go see this town! The locals are so freaking friendly and helpful!

God Bless!
